Light Bulb Brightness Calculator (Watts to Lumens)
Watts to Lumens Calculator
Convert old incandescent watts to LED lumens (and back) so you buy the right brightness bulb.
Lumens measure brightness; watts measure energy use. LEDs produce roughly 80-100 lumens per watt, so a 60W incandescent (800 lm) is matched by a ~8-10W LED. Always shop by lumens, not watts.

Watts to lumens for LED bulbs
Shop by lumens, not watts. Classic equivalents: 40W ≈ 450 lm, 60W ≈ 800 lm, 75W ≈ 1100 lm, 100W ≈ 1600 lm. An LED hits those numbers using about 80–85% less energy. Also check the color temperature (Kelvin): 2700K is warm white, 5000K is daylight.
| Incandescent | Lumens | LED watts |
|---|---|---|
| 40W | 450 | 5-6W |
| 60W | 800 | 8-10W |
| 75W | 1100 | 11-13W |
| 100W | 1600 | 15-18W |
