Overview

TotalBoat Gleam is a classic marine spar varnish designed to protect and beautify wood projects inside and out. Its premium tung oil base partners with phenolic resins and UV blockers to deliver a transparent amber hue while forming a durable, flexible film that moves with wood as humidity and temperature shift.

Whether you are refinishing a boat deck, outdoor bar tops, picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, or interior trim, Gleam provides a tough seal without masking the grain. The formula flows smoothly, minimizes brush marks, and accepts additional coats quickly, helping you achieve your desired build with fewer passes.

Finish options include a high-gloss look and a low-sheen satin. For a high gloss, apply four to six coats of Gleam Gloss. To reach satin, build with gloss coats and finish with Gleam Satin for the final one or two coats. Recoating is fast: you can recoat after about one hour at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, and you can apply up to three coats in a single day.

Coverage is typically 360 to 400 square feet per gallon, depending on wood porosity and the number of coats. Gleam is designed to resist UV fading, stay flexible after curing, and resist peeling or cracking as wood expands and contracts with changing seasons. The result is a radiant, warm amber surface that protects while letting natural grain show through.

All TotalBoat products are made in the USA and crafted for boaters by boaters, offering value and dependable performance across a range of wood projects—from boats and decks to outdoor furniture and bar tops.

Application tips: work in temperatures from 45 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 0 to 85 percent relative humidity for best results. Thinning options include 5 to 10 percent with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 for brushing and rolling, or 10 to 20 percent with TotalBoat Spray Thinner 101 for spraying.
