Why customers choose TaskHolt Tools

Overview

The Pentair Pentek R30-20BB is a 30-micron pleated polyester sediment filter cartridge designed for standard 20 x 4.5 inch Big Blue housings. It features more than 16 square feet of durable non-woven polyester fabric pleated around a polypropylene core, delivering significantly greater dirt-holding capacity than non-pleated cartridges. The media targets dirt, sand, silt, rust, and other particulates to help protect plumbing fixtures, water-using appliances, and downstream filtration stages. This pack includes two cartridges, making it convenient to schedule replacements.

Why this cartridge stands out

  • Over 16 square feet of pleated media increases surface area, promoting longer service intervals between changes.
  • Overlap seam is sonically welded to minimize internal bypass and enhance filtration efficiency.
  • Molded polypropylene endcaps with integrated gaskets create a secure, leak-free seal in standard Big Blue housings.
  • Initial pressure drop is less than 1 psi at 20 gpm, helping maintain steady whole-house water flow.
  • Polyester media is washable and reusable, offering the potential to extend cartridge life with proper care.

Fit, compatibility, and usage

Designed for residential, commercial, and light industrial sediment pre-filtration, the R30-20BB fits any standard Big Blue 20 x 4.5 housing. It helps shield downstream filter cartridges, appliances, and fixtures from sediment and particulates, supporting smoother performance across a water system. Operating temperature range is 40 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit, making it suitable for a variety of environments and climates.

What to expect in your system

  • Effective reduction of sediment to safeguard plumbing and downstream filtration stages.
  • Improved dirt capture thanks to the large pleated surface area, with a design aimed at consistent flow and reduced bypass.

Note: This is a two-pack cartridge set, designed to help you maintain filtration cadence without frequent ordering.
