Mocha is a true medium brown stain whose final shade shifts with how you dilute it and how many coats you apply. The example image shows a light gray concrete diluted with 4 parts water to 1 part stain. A represents a single thin coat, B two thin coats, and C three thin coats. This gives you a range from translucent to more opaque tones, letting you sculpt visual depth across floors, patios, and more.

Coverage varies with porosity. Extremely porous surfaces (think brick-like openness) will absorb more stain. In contrast, non-porous surfaces or very tight seals may require thorough prep to ensure the stain bonds where you want it. Proper surface prep—clean, with open pores—helps achieve the best, long-lasting results. If you plan interior or exterior installations, you can expect different absorption in different areas, so plan for a test area first.

Practical application tips

You can apply WRC Stain with a pump sprayer, cotton rag, sea sponge, brush, HVLP, or airless sprayer. A natural sea sponge roller can also be used to create texture. For best results, prep surfaces thoroughly and maintain open pores to aid absorption.

One quart (32 oz) yields approximately 5–10 quarts of ready-to-use stain, depending on dilution and porosity. Dilution level and the number of coats determine the final shade—from light translucence to richer, more opaque tones. After coloring, consider applying a compatible sealer to extend color longevity.

Notes and care

Colors may appear slightly different in person than on a monitor due to display variations. The stain’s open-pore bonding is designed to work on interior and exterior concrete, but surfaces with very low porosity may require additional prep work to achieve the desired bond and color.
