The 15 oz spray can is designed for smooth, even coverage, and, with proper surface preparation, no primer is required to help achieve a cohesive, brand-consistent look across many automotive trim surfaces.

In practical use, the satin sheen helps trim pieces blend with adjacent panels while the flexible coating can tolerate temperature changes and light flexing without cracking. This makes it a versatile option for refreshing exterior accents such as moldings, mirrors, grilles, and trim strips.

Surface preparation & application

Proper surface prep is essential for best results. Start by cleansing the part with SEM Soap, then remove grease and wax with a remover such as SEM 38373. Lightly sand with 400 grit and reclean to remove debris before coating. Mask off areas you don’t want painted to prevent overspray.

• Apply light mist coats, allowing 5–10 minutes between coats
• Several thin coats are better than a single heavy coat

How to apply and cure

Apply in light, even passes to build coverage gradually. A careful, patient approach helps ensure a uniform finish and better adhesion over time. Full hardness and maximum adhesion typically develop in about 48 hours, so consider the part settled and cured before handling or reassembly.
